Sharbot Lake and area has  hundreds of pollution free lakes! 
Sharbot Lake is located 120 km West of Ottawa,70 km North of Kingston and 95 Km north of Gananoque  and is about 15km long. A fisherman's paradise, bass, lake trout, northern pike, walleye and pan fish. Everything can be bought locally, fishing rods, bait etc. get ready for some of the best fishing you ever experienced.   Sharbot Lake Village, located on the shores of the lake, is a small community. It contains grocery, hardware and variety stores, discount shoe store, pharmacy, post office, bank , live bait shops, a liquor store* and  beer store*(*a few minutes away on 7 highway). A modern Medical Clinic (staffed on a 24 hour on call basis) and Churches offer Sunday services. 
There is an OPP station on highway 7 across from the beer and liquor stores, it is staffed 18 hours a day, the rest is on call police. 
It is a detachment of the Lanark County OPP.

The lake itself was created by glaciers and is a deep (150') spring fed slowly formed fresh-water lake that consists of two bodies of water, upper and lower Sharbot, with a total length of about 15 Km dotted with 99 islands.
     Sharbot Lake has long be noted for its natural beauty, excellent fishing and as an outstanding tourist region. 
A sandy beach and play area is located in the heart of the village.
    The village of  Sharbot Lake offers many services. There is a medical center, seniors residence, community services, as well as, Community Living North Frontenac. Education is provided by a child care centre, nursery school, public school, secondary school and a separate school. An excellent library is located in the lower half of the new Central Frontenac offices.
The surrounding region provides excellent fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, water sports and camping facilities.  The beautiful Land O' Lakes scenery and friendly people, along with attractive land prices make this area a prime retirement destination.
